Although that may sound like us design folks are out of a job, AI is going to be beneficial to all of us, particularly our web developers. In fact, AI can improve many tasks in web design, such as recommending color schemes and designing layouts. Here are some of the top ways web designers are currently using AI.
01. User Experience
Website visitors today expect and demand an easy to navigate website. Bad UX is one of the worst things to offer a site visitor as it prevents them from easily finding what they’re looking for. So, if AI can improve UX in web design, we give it two thumbs up and a bag of chips. Apple famously uses AI to empower its smart assistant Siri.

Videos, text and images are all types of content that AI can generate for websites. For websites that regularly produce lots of content, this is especially helpful. For example, eCommerce and news websites. Although you may need to do minor editing, it’s a quick way to speed up the process.
In addition to generating content, AI can also be used to improve content, not just for web design, but for other purposes also. You may be familiar with ProWritingAid, if not, it’s a cloud-based typing assistant program. It uses AI to suggest improvements to grammar and style, as well as checks for plagiarism.

Since most of us humans need at least 6 hours of sleep, we need ways to provide customer support 24/7. This is where AI comes into play. AI-powered chatbots are capable of providing customers with instant answers to a wide range of common questions. We’ve noticed a growing number of brands using chatbots on their sites. For example, Domino’s Pizza employs a chatbot for order processing, as well as order tracking.
