Artist, Author & Humanitarian
I
recently interviewed Robert Glick; a
remarkable Artist with a special aptitude for combining art
with poetry. "As both Author and Artist, it seems natural to combine language and form into motifs that, due to their different methods of communication, juxtapose the instinctual and rational, the raw and refined, the abstract and tangible."
Robert
uses acrylics and oils, sometimes combined with resin,
plaster, graphite, paper and other materials, crafting
figurative abstracts primarily inspired by nature or concerned
with the human condition.
Recently, the Artist donated "Connected" to
raise funds for the United Way, and last year a reception at Bikram
studio in
Woodlands, Texas generated good fortune for The Pangea
Network. Part of the proceeds from Robert's sold art pieces
were donated to The Pangea Network. If you are not familiar
with this organization, The Pangea Network is committed to building appreciation for cultural diversity and facilitating sustainable income-generating activities for women in developing countries.

"Interred"
— Charred and mixed media on paper mounted on two 2' x 4'
panels. This piece is one of my favorite paintings from
Robert's collection.
